MASIA LES COMES 2017
Clos Montblanc’s origins in a wine
Masia les Comes is the name of the Carbonell family’s original house. In 1988, we decided to plant six hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and four hectares of Merlot with the intention of producing our own Clos Montblanc Reserva.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a temperature set between 25 and 28 C. After maceration with the skins, the wine is aged in French and American oak barrels for 18 to 24 months.
Tasting note
Reddish purple colour, clean and brilliant. Complex aroma (tobacco, black fruit, coffee, peat). In the mouth, it feels broad, round and well-structured. Long aftertaste.
Type of vine
30-year-old, valley-side vines at an altitude of 700 metres.
